Gilbert Estates

This was my first development project, although not the first one to be completed, due to some complications with the neighbors. What a learning curve! It all started out by assembling 4 contiguous large lot properties, totaling just shy of 3 acres, located in the middle of an established residential neighborhood. We naively thought the neighbors would be delighted with our plans to clear out these old, blighted homes and replace them with 16 brand new ones. Instead, we got a valuable lesson about what “Not In My Back Yard” really means. In the end, we constructed 12 single family estate homes, ranging from 3,250 to 3,450 square feet in size and the upward trending market was helpful in bailing us out of numerous mistakes along the way.
